The Israelites journeyed deep into the desert and reached Mount Sinai, a place of great significance. There, God spoke to them through Moses, reminding them of His deliverance from Egypt and declaring, "If you obey My voice and keep My covenant, you will be My treasured people, a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation." The people agreed, saying, "All that the Lord has spoken, we will do." God instructed them to purify themselves, for He would descend upon the mountain. Amid smoke, fire, and trembling earth, the Israelites witnessed God’s presence, overwhelmed with awe. Moses, accompanied by Aaron and the elders, approached the mountain, where they glimpsed God's glory, described as a sapphire-like brilliance. Moses then ascended alone into the cloud of glory, where he remained for forty days and nights, receiving laws to guide the Israelites. Among these were the Ten Commandments, written by God's own hand on stone tablets.
