This is our Berkshire boar, Wilson. I feed him 4.5 pounds of 12.6% feed per day. He is getting the 12.6% market hog finishing feed, because I have plenty of it available now.
He would be fine with a 12% maintenance ration, but then I would have to grind a batch of feed just for him and it would take too long for him to go through it!
Hopefully, this video will give you an idea of how to manage your breeding boar to keep him in top shape, while preventing him from getting to big to be used.
