A creative person, Sunil got 36 marks in Maths, which he takes as an honour! Being an average person, he went on to become a great storyteller who is loved by rural and urban population of the country. Apart from lending some handy business tips, Sunil tells you about significant ways to deal with corporate bosses too.
Sunil Nair, COO, ALTBalaji is also the man behind India's first online video distribution platform - Nautanki.tv (later acquired by Hungama in 2010), he has held leadership positions in Reliance Jio, Star TV & OneChannel Media LLC and is active in the startup circle as an advisor and mentor.
Sunil loves travelling, writes sporadically and enjoys single origin coffee. Exploring and acquainting himself with new places is a passion. His love for travel led him to publish a travelogue ‘Footloose in God's own backyard’, a 45 day journey in central Kerala for a travel company. He has written many books: ‘Vignettes’ and ‘Silhouettes’ are collections of poetry.
Chatroom Blues, a novella set in Internet chatrooms published by Printreach in association with Indiatimes, an eBook - ‘The Coffee Shop Tango’ which became a finalist in the 24 hours writers’.
Sunil was responsible for starting two literary movements - The Pune Lit Circle and The Mumbai Writers Cafe now called Caferati. He was also a research assistant for a doctoral PhD thesis on the ‘Theatre of the Absurd’. With a Master’s Degree in Management Sciences from the University of Pune, Sunil is a certified systems analyst from National Computing Centre, UK.
He is an avid storyteller, especially to his daughter who adores his ‘bed time stories’ that revolve around the adventures of a little girl call Tarakshi and her pet crow called Kaa. These stories are being currently converted into a series of books for parents of little kids.
He is usually found baking and cooking for his family in his spare time in order to unwind.
