In this video we look at three of our styles of compostable paper coffee cups by World Centric. Traditional hot cups are lined with petroleum based plastic linings. Not only does this make them not compostable, it can also leach into the hot beverage. These cups are lined with Ingeo, a plastic made entirely from plant starch. The insulated hot cups have a pocket of air between the layers that can eliminate the need for a sleeve! (Alternatively, one could use a coffee sleeve, too, for triple insulation.)
The kraft cups featured in this video have a beautiful natural, artisan look and are the most eco-friendly option available. They are unbleached, so their brown color is the natural color of the paper. Their manufacturing process uses about 25% less water and resources than that for white paper cups.
