In this short video I will explain how to check RAM Model, RAM Brand and RAM Serial Number without opening your PC or laptop.
This video is not about RAM specs, but about finding the make and model of your memory sticks.
When upgrading it is often recommended, particularly for newbies, that you use the same RAM make and model as the one already installed to avoid confusion or mismatch (Unless you are upgrading the module itself to a newer or a larger capacity model).
I talk about two methods.
In the first method I talk about how to check RAM Model and Brand using Command Prompt in Windows OS. The following is the command I have used in Command Prompt:
wmic memorychip get devicelocator, manufacturer, partnumber, serialnumber
In the second method I use a popular and a free utility called CPU-Z. The following is the download link for this utility.
