This pad is all plastic construction, but doesn't look tacky. It has a lightning bolt icon as the only visible graphic, and the bottom has four rubber feet to keep it from sliding around.
A ring of green lights flash when you put a phone onto it and is starts to charge successfully, but they go out after only a few seconds and it doesn't produce any more light, so you could keep it in a bedroom without blinding yourself all night.
If there is a problem (power supply not providing the right voltage, phone not properly positioned or doesn't support wireless charging), it will instead flash red lights to let you know that the phone isn't charging properly.
The pad has a USB-C plug, and comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable in the box. It works correctly with a USB-C PD charger, or with a QC compatible USB-A charger that can step up to 9 volts or 12 volts. [At the 5 volt level, it will only accept 2 amps, 10 watts and wireless charging will be limited to the 7.5 watt level.]
