As of July 2024, Nepal is experiencing severe monsoon rains that have resulted in deadly flash floods and landslides. Persistent rainfall has caused significant damage across various regions, leading to at least 14 fatalities and leaving at least nine people missing. Since June, at least 50 people have died due to extreme weather events related to the monsoon season. The heavy rainfall has exacerbated Nepal's vulnerability to natural disasters, particularly in its mountainous terrain and river systems, which are prone to flooding and landslides
