A visit to Belle Isle to check out this summer or the next should be on your list of things to do. This park is situated on the Detroit River in Detroit between Michigan and Canada. To access the island there is a bridge that takes you across in Detroit. If you walk or bike the bridge you have free access to Belle Isle. If you drive your car onto the island you need to have the Michigan Recreation passport. If you don’t have one you can buy one when you come into the park. I recommend driving the circle loop when coming into Belle Isle. It gives you a chance to scope out the almost 1000 acre park.
Places to visit on Belle Isle include:
-The Aquarium-free but accepts donations
-The Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and outdoor gardens-free but closed 2023 for renovations
-Nature Center-free
-Golf driving range-see link for prices [ Ссылка ]
-James Scott Memorial Fountain-free
-Memorial Lighthouse-free
-Dossin Great Lakes Museum- $5 per person or $20 per household
-Giant Slide??? Wasn’t open when we went, not sure if it is opening up this season.
-Biking, hiking, fishing, swimming and so on.
Pack yourself and your family a picnic along with your swimsuits and enjoy Belle Isle. (If you don’t pack a lunch, their are food trucks that visit Belle Isle!)
