"Today we are able to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on the diplomatic training between our two countries. Diplomatic training is not a new issue or a new cooperation for Indonesia and Afghanistan because so far we already trained a number of Afghan diplomats In Indonesia and we would like to strengthen it in the future."

"Since 2001 Indonesia has been supporting Afghanistan on many areas including training of the diplomats, support for our Islamic centre, which was recently built, we are very much grateful and we are profoundly grateful for the support of our Indonesian friends. We look forward to deepening and strengthening our relations."

"Egypt considers this relation with Indonesia as a priority. We are looking forward to more avenues of cooperation in all fields political, economical and cultural. We are very reassured by the success of the visit of the Grand Sheikh of al-Azhar (to Indonesia in February 2016) and the ongoing cooperation between Indonesia and al-Azhar at the educational level."

STORYLINE:
The Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan and Egypt on Saturday met with their Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi as part of a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Afghanistan's Salahuddin Rabbani and Marsudi signed a memorandum of understanding on diplomatic training and education cooperation.
Rabbani stressed his country's close cooperation with Indonesia since 2001 and said his country was "profoundly grateful for the support of our Indonesian friends."
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Souk said he was "very reassured by the success" of the recent visit to Indonesia of Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb, the current Grand Sheikh of al-Azhar, which is the pre-eminent institute of Islamic learning in the Sunni Muslim world.
The OIC, founded in 1969 to be a collective voice of the Muslim world, is one of the largest international organisations with 56 member states in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.
56 nations from Africa, Asia, Europe and South America have joined the OIC as the organisation aims to be the collective voice of the Muslim world.
