Footage from a local broadcaster in Bangladesh shows protesters looting the official residence of the prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, in the capital, Dhaka.

Some of the protesters could be seen carrying chairs from the Ganabhaban residence. Hasina has since resigned and fled the country.
Dozens of people have been killed in anti-government protests that have swept across Bangladesh in recent days. Mobile internet access was cut off in an attempt to quell the unrest. The country’s leading Bengali-language daily newspaper, Prothom Alo, said that at least 95 people, including at least 14 police officers, had died in the violence. Channel 24 reported at least 85 deaths.
