The High Court is located in a building called as Attara Kacheri (meaning Eighteen offices). It is a two-storied building of stone and brick, painted red, in the Graeco-Roman style of architecture – a structure of the vast expanse with Ionic porticoes at the center and at the two ends of the elevation. The construction of the building was supervised by Rao Bahadur Arcot Narayanaswami Mudaliar and completed in the year 1868.Attara Kacheri, (Karnataka High Court), overlooks Vidhana Sabha. It is a red brick and stone building in the Greco-Roman style of architecture. It houses the High Court for the state of Karnataka.

Red Paint is the cheapest of all, using Iron Oxide as a coloring agent. White (Limestone: whitewash) gets dirtier, more quickly and only old Stone buildings look good without a paint, not brick ones. The buildings you see brown were actually painted red. This saves a lot of public money.
