The Doctor (Chris Hoyle) is, for once, travelling alone and takes the opportunity to visit Charlotte, who he hasn't seen for several years and who is living in a small English country village.
But shortly after arriving in Howbury it seems that the Doctor is under attack by an invisible force. A sinister, cloaked figure is homing in on him, dark storm-clouds are building over the village, and a future Doctor (DAvid Hobson) and Charlotte also seem to be ensnared, in a distant, bleak and hostile wilderness that seems far removed from the nrural tranquility of Howbury village... or is it?
