There are places where you enjoy most of their beauty zooming out. Morocco is a place where you have to zoom in to see all its colors.
My 46th country, I spent a month in a surf town called Tamraht and it’s been one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever made.
Let’s zoom in.
From the moment I arrived in Tamraght, I knew this place was special.
The laid-back vibe, the friendly locals, and the stunning coastline instantly captured my heart.
I set up base in a cozy coliving in a company of 10 other digital nomads.
With reliable Wi-Fi, charming rooftop, and a walking distance to the beach and local cafes.
Working as a digital nomad here was a dream. Mornings were spent catching waves, and afternoons were for grinding out work with a view that never got old.
One of my favorite spots to unwind after a long day was the skate park in Taghazout, just a short ride away. Watching the sunset here, with the sky painted in hues of orange and pink, was pure magic.
Of course, I couldn't miss a visit to the Agadir souk. Just a 30 min taxi ride back to the city, this vibrant market is a sensory overload in the best way possible.
From spices and textiles to fresh produce, it was the perfect place to immerse myself in Moroccan culture and pick up some unique souvenirs.
One weekend, I took a day trip to Paradise Valley, and it truly lived up to its name. Along the way, we stopped at an argan oil farm and learned about the traditional process of making this liquid gold.
Another surprise was the lunch – a mouth-watering tajine prepared by locals. An authentic taste accompanied by traditional Moroccan tea of course, with mint and sugar overdose.
This evening Nemo, our local host, takes us to his home town Anza, known for its lively market. It was a great spot to mingle with locals and get a feel for everyday life in this coastal region.
One of the most memorable evenings was a barbecue dinner in the mountains. Surrounded by breathtaking views, we feasted on grilled meats and veggies under a starlit sky. It was the perfect way to connect with fellow travelers and locals alike.
Another epic adventure was a day trip to Tamri. After catching some epic waves, we got boosted with a coffee and hit the sand dunes for some sandboarding action. The day wrapped up with a bonfire on the beach, sharing stories and laughter under the stars.
So make cool place here for surfing, Imsouane is a real gem.
With its legendary long right-hand waves, it was an absolute must-visit. Surfing here felt like riding a never-ending wave, pure bliss for any surf enthusiast.
Shall I mention Morocco is a muslim country small towns like Tamraght don’t really have bars.
For nights out we always ventured to Taghazout. Whether it was live music, beach parties, or just chilling with new friends, there was never a dull moment.
I’ve seen the world and I’m hard to impress. But Morocco stole my heart and I’m definitely coming back.
