Princess Nanda was born to King Suddhodana and Queen Mahapajapati Gotami. She was the half-sister to Siddhartha who became the Lord Buddha. She ordained, not out of faith or desire for enlightenment, but rather due to familial pressure and not wanting to be left behind. She struggled as a bhikkhuni (nun) until she finally went to go see the Buddha. See what he taught her to make her transform into an enlightened one.
