"Is there a heaven full of redunant copies of the same people? Is there someone up there who'd call me an imposter?"
SOMA is a game that had a significant impact on me, and through this video essay, I want to try and explain - why? Through dissecting the narrative and it's themes, exploring the underwater tomb that is PATHOS-II, I seek to come to a conclusion on how exactly the game manages to be a potent commentary on the nature of identity and consciousness whilst still being one of the most horrifying horror games I've ever played.
Welcome back to another long video! Due to the overwhelming response to the Fear and Hunger video, I am back with yet another long video - I mean you guys seem to enjoy it :D. If you do enjoy the video, do make sure to like and subscribe and check out my socials below! Will probably switch over to making two of these a month (longer videos) rather than the shorter ones four times a month as I have been doing, but let me know what you think. Anyway, I do hope you enjoy and I'll see you in the next one!
