Ultimately, I am very pleased with this fountain pen. I am happy to see companies who are bucking the trends, making new (and in some ways better) filling solutions. The downside of having the ink in the actual pen is that it's sometimes more difficult to clean out and switch inks. But personally I don't often switch inks, except for demonstration purposes, and I really like how these large clear acrylic built-in reservoirs look and perform. All the Moonman pens I've had so far have been good to me.
To address my somewhat click-baity title, I think that "ripoff" is a bad way of putting it. I think it's good when companies see things they like and find a way of incorporating it into their own product with a little twist of their own. None of us exist in a vacuum, and when we're making pens or art or anything else, we're always influence by all the things we've ever seen. Moonman have succeeded in making a cool pen here. Even if the pen cap does remind one of Kaweco, maybe that's only a good thing, since I like those pen caps!
