In this episode, I'll be taking a good look at the NI KA2, a 2x2 audio interface that comes with an impressive software bundle. I'll go over features and then install, configure, and record a project through it.
TIMESTAMPS:
0:00 - Sample of completed project recorded through the KA2
0:54 - Intro and overview
7:26 - Installation and configuration
13:52 - Electronic drums
15:36 - Bass guitar
17:43 - Synths and vocoders
20:10 - Acoustic drums
21:55 - Vocals
23:28 - Music video of completed project

VST plugins that I used during mixing were mostly included in Reaper or the Komplete Audio bundle, with a couple of exceptions:
From the bundled Kontakt Player, I used:
- Vintage\Drum Machine - CR-78
- Synth\Pad - Lesotho (through Cockos ReaVocode)
- Vintage\Contemp Analog - Melody (through Cockos ReaVocode)
The bundled Native Instruments Solid Bus Compressor was on these tracks:
- Acoustic Drums bus
- Bass guitar
- Background Vocal 1 bus
- Background Vocal 2 bus
- Background Vocal 3 bus
- Background Vocal 4 bus
- Lead Vocal Harmony bus
- Master bus
The bass also had the bundled Supercharger compressor on it.
Most tracks had ReaEQ on them, and a few had ReaComp and ReaGate. A couple of instances of ReaDelay were used as sends.
The non-bundled stuff I used was Waves DeEsser on the lead/harmony vocal, and Waves L2 on the Master Bus.
