After Kedarnath & Tungnath, Kalpeshwar temple in Uttarakhand was my 3rd Kedar darshna. Kapleshwar is 5th of Panch Kedar. It is located some 30 kms from Joshimath in Uttarakhand. Lord Shiva's Jata is worshipped here and hence lord Shiva is called Jatadhar or Jateshwar. There is a huge rock which is considered as Mahadev's Jata. 12kms before Joshimath, there is another road that goes to a place called Udgam Valley. After Udgam vally there is a small village called Devgram. And after Devgram comes Kalpeshwar.
Kalpeshwar Temple Uttarakhand is not a long or difficult trek. This is easiest among Panch Kedar & remains open throughout the year for devotees. Kalpeshwar Dham is just 500 meters from road & you can reach temple in less than 15 minutes. The temple is situated at an altitude of about 2,200 meters above sea level, and it is surrounded by the beautiful Himalayan mountains. It is believed that the temple was built by the Pandavas during their exile, and the temple has a rich history and mythology associated with it.
Kalpeshwar Temple is known for its unique natural rock Shivling, which is considered to be one of the oldest among all the Panch Kedar temples. The temple is also popular for its beautiful surroundings, which are filled with lush green forests, snow-capped mountains, and serene streams.
