"Doctor Who breaks canon!" they cry. "Doctor Who replaced William Hartnell as the First Doctor!" they weep. "And there's NO PRECEDENCE FOR THIS WHATSOEVER!" they wail.
All of those statements are dumb and wrong and "they" should feel bad.
Anyway, this was the best episode of the Whittaker era thus far. Let's talk about why that might be, and let's explore a couple theories about this new (old?) Doctor, and how - yep - the "canon" of the show has space for her after all.
