The Baltimore City spending board on Wednesday authorized $500,000 more in payments to settle lawsuits filed by four people over actions taken by the defunct Baltimore police Gun Trace Task Force. One lawsuit involving misconduct by the GTTF is costing the city another $60,000 -- this time for the arrest and vacated conviction of Derrick Anderson. In 2016, the GTTF reported hearing gunfire on Lafayette Street. Anderson pleaded guilty to possession and served 14 months in jail. There was no evidence that GTTF members planted the gun. Anderson's lawsuit claimed the GTTF made up the story. He initially sought $175,0000 for false arrest, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.
