On the album you will hear reference to afrobeats, classic Congolese rumba, trap, latin reggaeton and dance music. Mzungu Kichaa features legendary Tanzanian singer Lady Jaydee, Congolese veteran King Kiki, Tanzanian Hip-Hop icon FidQ, Kenya’s Afropop sensation Sauti Sol, Denmark’s top dancehall star Kaka, promising new Tanzanian rapper KK and Afrosoul singer, Tanzanian Grace Matata.
Mzungu Kichaa broke through in 2009 on the East African music scene with the album "Tuko Pamoja" and the hit single "Jitolee" featuring Tanzanian stars, Professor Jay and Mwasiti.
By 2010, Mzungu Kichaa had become famous in both Kenya and Tanzania and he was invited to be a judge in Bongo Star Search, the Tanzanian equivalent to X-Factor. In 2012 he released his EP "Hustle", followed by the 2016 EP “Relax” featuring Danish singer Karen Mukupa and Tanzania’s Juma Nature. During this time he built up a solid reputation in Eastern and southern Africa.
Europe also felt the impact of Mzungu Kichaa and his music: he has been nominated twice for a Danish Music Award - in 2009 in the category "Best World Album" for "Tuko Pamoja" and in 2012 "Twende Kazi" was a candidate for "Best World Track" and playlisted on Funkhaus Europa.
He featured in a Danish documentary series, Black Business, showcasing the potential and challenges of the music industry in Tanzania. Recently he was appointed Ambassador for SOS Children’s’ Villages and continues to support the organization by advocating their work during his international tours and visiting their outreach programs in Tanzanian government schools and dedicated his song Mind Body Soul to the cause.
