Bashar al-Assad's regime fell apart in a matter of days, but Syrians have endured immense suffering over the past 54 years. While they celebrate the end of the regime, they are acutely aware of the significant challenges ahead, locally, regionally, and internationally as they rebuild their nation.
The major cities such as here in the captial Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, and Hama, once economic hubs, now face monumental rebuilding efforts. The war in Syria has left the economy and infrastructure in ruins, after schools, hospitals, and residential areas were targeted during the conflict.
Despite the challenges, there is a renewed sense of hope. The determination of neighbouring countries to support the new Syria in its reconstruction and development is both strong and openly expressed, offering a brighter future.
