*South Africa has this morning joined several countries around the world that have imposed nationwide lockdowns to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

*G20 leaders say they're committed to presenting a united front against the coronavirus pandemic. During a video conference of the world's major economies, leaders said they are committed to restoring confidence, preserving financial stability and reviving growth. They've asked leaders finance ministers and central bank governors to coordinate regularly together with international organizations to develop an action plan in response to the coronavirus pandemic.


*Some prominent performers have welcomed the decision by the Arts and Culture Department to make a hundred and 50 million rands available to provide them with relief. The coronavirus pandemic has forced the cancellation of performances and gigs.
