ClimateStory Ep. 16 - Zwei Morgen Land, Germany - An Expert in Regenerative Farming Techniques
This is not a typical ClimateStory episode, but might be the most important one to date. Let me explain...
Zwei Morgen Land is a relatively small regenerative farm located on the outskirts of Düsseldorf, Germany. From the moment I arrived here, I felt that there was something very special about this place. It has an alive-ness that can only be experienced firsthand, and through the magical produce grown on their soil.
Regenerative agriculture is not a new concept: the Rodale Institute began using the term and publicising the concept in the early 1980's. And indigenous cultures have long been applying the principles, even before they had a name.
Alexander, the primary care-taker of Zwei Morgen Land, is a savant of this method of farming. In this episode we will learn what Regenerative farming is, how it's different from organic farming, and why it potentially holds the key to solving a big part of the current climate crisis.
