Designing and building tunnels is always a challenge, especially in hard, rocky and dangerous landscapes like the Zojila Pass in the Himalayas. The MEIL, which has been executing the Zojila tunnel works at breakneck speed, has achieved yet another milestone. On June 28, 2022, the first lining pour of the Nilgrar Tunnel Tube-1 was completed, bringing cheer to the entire team, especially those who’ve been working round the clock towards achieving this. Tunnel linings are the support system of the structure. The Nilgrar Tube-1 is 452 metres long, and is being built at an altitude of 2,900 meters.

Transportation plays a vital role in everyday’s life. For smoother commutation, it is prerequisite to have the proper infrastructure in place. MEIL is the front runner in creating transport infrastructure. MEIL constructed several highways including Hyderabad-Karim Nagar Highway. MEIL is involved in the construction Super Communication Highway between Nagpur – Mumbai. MEIL is also working with RVNL in laying of railway lines in the country.
