District collector Amrapali Kata has trekked the hillocks (Inuparati Guttalu) at Devunoor village in Dharmasagar mandal in the district on Friday. District forest department has organised the nature walk/trekking event as a part of eco-tourism promotion activities. A fitness freak and nature lover, Amrapali has earlier participated in the events like trekking, rock climbing and other other adventure activities in Mahabubaba and Bhupalpally districts.
The hillocks are located near the Dharmasagar reservoir, a tourist spot, about 30 km away from Warangal city.
Speaking on the occasion, Amrapali said she likes to trek and added that the place is very much suitable for the trekking activity. “We will take steps to make a centre for trekking,” she promised. Students of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, Kakatiya University’s physical education department, District Forest Officer (DFO) K Purushotham and other staff have participated in the trekking event
