Bhimtal is a small tourist place in Nainital district of Uttarakhand state that got its name from the lake that is the main attraction for tourists. It is some 17 kms from the last rail head Kathgodam.
It is 21 kms from the main dist headquarters Nainital the lake city of Kumaon.
Best season to visit here is March to July and mid September to November
There are number of tourist resorts and hotels that can be booked online.
KMOU bus services and private taxis are available from Haldwani.
