This video is going to focus specifically on the jazz fusion sounds Koji Kondo was listening to during his very first music composition job at Nintendo. We will discuss several particular bands that Mr. Kondo was a huge fan of, analyze some of their compositional and stylistic attributes, and detail a little bit of my mindset when I sat down to REMIX the classic Mario Bros. music by utilizing the specific instruments and arrangement structures from Koji Kondo's early jazz fusion influences.
