Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu appears in five different forms at Yadgiri. He is worshiped as Sri Jwalanarasimha, Sri Yogananda, Sri Gandabharunda, Sri Ugra and Sri Lakshminarasimha.
The Yadadri temple is mentioned in the Skanda Purana also.
It is said that Yadari, mesmerized by the presence of the Lord, requested the Lord to stay with him. Then God appeared in five forms in the walls of the caves.
The second belief is related to the worship of the tribal settled here... When the tireless search of the tribal for years kept them away from God, then one night Lord Narasimha, appeared to the clan in a dream and instructed them to come to a cave. When the devotee did this, the Lord appeared in five different forms and blessed him.
Not only this, Yadagiri Gutta is one of the most popular and most visited Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Lord Narasimha here is also known as 'Vaidya Narasimha' or the physician. According to belief, God cures any chronic disease after visiting this temple.
Spread over an area of 4 acres, the entire temple complex is built of stone and along with its religious significance, the location of the temple on top of a hillock...the pillars of the 12 Alwars will enthrall you.
However, it was later renovated by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Around 1,500 workers including 800 sculptors from various places including Allagadda, Karimnagar and Tamil Nadu worked long and hard every day to execute the mega project. Anand Sai, the chief architect of the temple, visited several temples in South India before making the final plan.
The temple was completed in the year 2021 and formally inaugurated in the year 2022. Yadadri temple is the largest temple in India made of granite stone.. If you look at the architecture of Yadagirigutta, Dravidian style is visible in the architecture of this grand temple..
