A few days after four RAF Eurofighter Typhoons have begun their role in NATO's enhanced air policing mission in Romania, two of the British fighter jets scrambled to intercept a Russian IL-20 military plane over the Black Sea, near Romanian air space.
These kind of scrambles have intensified over the last few years, in 2017 more than 60 scrambles against Russian military aircraft have been performed by Romanian pilots and NATO allies stationed in Romania for enhanced air policing missions.
