A rich, deeply colored Australian boulder opal is the centerpiece of this unique necklace. This is a full-faced opal, flashing electric blue and purple, with transparent parts showing rich ironstone in a few spots. The boulder opal has been expertly and securely set into a handcrafted fine silver bezel, with a sterling silver backing; it is mounted on two handcrafted bails, which lets the pendant slide smoothly along the chain, moving as you do. The boulder opal measures 34 x 9 x 3 mm millimeters (at its longest and widest points) weighs 8 carats, and is rated a 3.6 out of 5 (3.6/5) on the brightness scale; the sterling silver chain is currently 20 inches in length. Because this necklace would be a great addition to a layering set, you have the option to choose a chain length of your choice, finished with a sterling silver lobster clasp.
The necklace in the photos is the exact one you will receive!
I use primarily reclaimed silver, eco-friendly processing, crafting, and polishing techniques, locally-sourced materials whenever possible. I handcraft each of my pieces individually; none of the settings are cast or pre-fabricated. All photos were taken using only sunlight as the lighting source.
