Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo, One Ghazal in Seven Raags. This piece is a novel experiment in Raag transposition with the iconic ghazal Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo that is based in Raag Yaman Kalyan. The Ghazal, written by poet Fayyaz Hashmi and composed by Sohail Rana, has several popular versions by several well-known Pakistani singers such as Farida Khannum, Habib Wali Mohammad as well as by Indian singers Asha Bhonsle, Arijit Singh and others. In this version Apoorvaa Deshpande (Vocals)and Vinod Krishnan (Keys/Piano) have transposed different parts of the ghazal to different Raags, with unplugged instrumentation. The Ragas follow in this sequence: Yaman Kalyan, Marwa, Jog, Saraswati, Des, Baageshree, Puriya Dhanashree and finally back to Yaman Kalyan to end the song.
