Could North Korea be gearing up to launch yet another provocation in the coming days?
Pyongyang has announced its plans to test-fire a long-range missile at a random time and place of its leader's choosing.
In an interview with the North's state-run Korean Central Television on Sunday, a spokesman from North Korea's foreign ministry said the United States is disturbing the regime's intercontinental ballistic missile test,... which is in its final stages of development.
The spokesman added that Washington continues to denounce its preparations... and talk about sanctions.
The announcement comes just a week after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said his country was close to test-firing an ICBM.
Following the latest announcement, U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said on Sunday that North Korea's nuclear and missile programs pose a "serious threat".
He said Washington is prepared to shoot down a North Korean missile... IF it comes towards the U.S. or its allies' territories.
