The Maharashtra government has recognized the right to read Azaan and the timing throughout the day. This comes as an effort to maintain peace and harmony in the state, especially after the Azaan Loudspeaker bans controversy over the past weeks. The order includes provisions like no other interruptions (for the Hanuman Chalisa controversy) during the Azaan timings and special police permission will be required to do other religious processions during the time, within a 100-meter radius of the mosque. The Home Minister Dilip Patil and Chief Minister are talking about the loudspeaker issue to come up with a system that will suit everyone.
