The Makali Ghats is the tough one for Diesels burning all their horses to maintain a good speed. At first, The GY Twins Roars and accelerates when it approaches the curve while the ALCos chugg hard from the beginning.

Given the same load I think clearly EMDs win the battle against maintaining the speed at a Ghat Section.

My last videos of Makalidurga un-destroyed, The place where the video was shot was the best place to witness the train coming from far from Thondebhavi to Makalidurga. This place is been destroyed to make way for new line.
