The Digital twin is the new cool, like BIM was 10 years ago. BIM is outdated, BIM is still and not dynamic. Is this mean that the industry doesn't need BIM anymore?

Some organizations are creating a high-level digital twin presentation just to be up-to-date with the latest technology in the industry. However, the problem comes when those organizations forget about the digital twin user experience path. Therefore, having the even latest digital twin technology in construction is useless, if you don't know how to use it or what output you want to get.

The most important thing is to make a proper user needs analysis and act accordingly. This means that sometimes a BIM model with synchronization on daily basis can be just enough. Yes, that might not be a digital twin, but is something that meets the user's needs.
