One of the best places in India to see leopards in the wild is Jhalana Leopard Reserve in the city of Jaipur. And today, we will give you a virtual tour of the hotel we stayed in during our visit to Jhalana. The hotel is a part of the Royal Orchid Hotels group, which owns and manages 70+ properties in India.
The Royal Orchid hotel in Jaipur is just 20 minutes drive from the Jhalana Leopard Safari park and is a convenient place to stay. Although there are many hotel options in the city of Jaipur for all budgets, because we chose this one, we will give a tour of this resort.
The hotel was up to date with the covid measures, had generous staff, and had a very smooth check-in process. On the ground floor, there is a reception, seating area, a couple of dining places, and a lounge.
The same group owns Regenta Hotel in Ranthambore. A great thing about the properties of Royal Orchid Group is the luxury-like vibe it offers. The grandeur of the place will speak for itself. Plus, the interiors and lightings give you a sense of relaxation.
However, because the rooms are offered at a reasonable rate, the facility in the room is not the best kind. It is great but should not be compared with Taj, Oberois, etc. We love the hotels of this group and visit them all the time.
The food and service are great and that’s why a lot of people in Jaipur use the restaurants here to host birthday parties and other events. It is economical and delicious at the same time.

The property also has a wide-open area that can be used for relaxing in the sun or a smoke break. The seating area is widely used by people but because we went in summer, people preferred staying inside. In short, it is a sweet little property in the heart of Jaipur.
There are many rooms on each floor. Because this hotel is in Jaipur, most of the guests here will not be staying for Jhalana Leopard Safari. There can be all kinds of guests here unlike what you would find in tiger reserves of India.
One more thing, about the hotel room prices. We initially made the booking using Make my trip. And then realized that the prices on the official website were cheaper. So always check both third-party websites and the official website of the hotel to find the best rates.
For us, the two rooms here cost us Rs 5,500 including all taxes. There were no meals included in this plan and we had to pay for our meals separately.
The rooms, as mentioned earlier, were decent enough. There were all amenities including a mini-fridge, a big table to work, a bathtub, and enough wardrobe space. The bed was comfortable and so was the air conditioning.
The room service for food is great and you don’t have to go down to eat all the time. The food was decent and well-priced. For hotels like these which form a part of a hotel chain, it's easier to request any modifications. Plus, you can be sure of getting standardized service.

During our safaris here, we saw 4 leopards. Jhalana is one of the best wilderness spots in India and is very quickly gaining popularity. It is open throughout the year and offers great sightings.
