Just last week, Republican lawmakers like Marjorie Taylor Greene were telling us that President Biden was not only going to be impeached, but that he would likely be going to jail due to the bribery allegations Republicans had "uncovered." Fast forward just one week, and Republicans are now telling us that the evidence simply isn't there, and that the allegation isn't as grand as they thought it was. There's an obvious reason why Republicans are now telling people to temper their expectations, and Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains why that is.

You know, I love how quickly the tide can turn, especially when you're dealing with Republicans, because just a week ago, republicans were telling us, Marjorie Taylor Green specifically said that the evidence they have allegedly uncovered is not only gonna lead to President Biden's impeachment, but she said it's gonna put 'em behind bars. Marjorie Taylor Green told us last week that President Biden was gonna go to jail. It's actually her guy that's probably going to jail, but either way, she said, dudes going to jail because we've got this information from the F fbi, we've got this whistleblower, and by the way, we've got tapes. And then in the days after that, other Republicans, including Republican Senator Ron Johnson, came out and said, we got 17 tapes, 17 tapes of this alleged Biden corruption, where he got 5 million from Barisma in exchange for firing that state prosecutor that wasn't going after Barisma the way he was supposed to be going.
By the way, as Republicans have distorted the entire story so that people forget what actually happened, the global community wanted that prosecutor in Ukraine fired because he wasn't going after corruption and he wasn't investigating Barisma, by the way, but that was last week, right? Republicans telling us he's done, he's toast, he's finished, we've got him, we've got it all. We're done. Because this week things have changed. This week, Republicans, republican lawmakers, including Ron Johnson by the way, who last week was like, who? Boy, we got 'em, are going out there in conservative media, they're going on Fox News, they're going on Newsmax, and they're telling the host, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. We don't even know if any of this is legit. I mean that's, that's actually what Ron Johnson said. We don't, we don't know if any of this is legit. He said, we don't even know if the tapes exist now. So last week, the tapes were real and they had all the evidence, and now Republicans are telling us like, we don't even know if the tapes exist.
They made it up. They're making this up as they go, folks, that's what's happening. They're getting so worked up in their own minds, they're creating these alternative realities. They're spewing them on conservative media and then they finally realize like, oh crap, we can't do that. So this week, all of them except Marjorie Taylor Greene, she swears to God it's all real. But everybody else, including Matt Gates, is out there saying, Hey, maybe y'all ought to lower your expectations about what we can do to President Biden here. We don't know. There's no smoking gun. There may not be a smoking gun. We don't even know if that F B I form that. We've hyped so much. We don't even know if that stuff's accurate. By the way, you know who didn't think it was accurate? Attorney General William Barr, while Donald Trump was president of the United States, because it
Bears repeating that William Barr is the one who was given this FBI whistleblower statement, looked at it and said, Hmm, this doesn't seem right and did nothing with it. But there's a reason. There is a reason Republicans are now out there telling everybody, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Temper your expectations. We don't even know if any of this is real. And it's because of what's happened in that House of Representatives for the last six months.
