Baltimore's plastic bag ban is slated to begin next month, Mayor Brandon Scott announced Wednesday morning. The ban was postponed from July to Oct. 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ban prohibits single-use plastic checkout bags at the point of sale, pick up or delivery. Any other bags distributed will require a 5-cent surcharge.
