In this fascinating insight into cutting edge strike carrier operations by the Royal Navy, a F-35B pilot talks about his experience of flying supersonic stealthy aircraft from the new strike carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth.
It is a video by Leading Photographer Dan Shepherd and it won the Royal Navy Video Award in the 2020 Peregrine Trophy contest. Overall more than 250 images and videos were submitted for this year’s Peregrine competition. The imagery captured the action-packed lives of sailors and Royal Marines as they served on vital operations around the globe.

A portfolio of photographs recording the carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth’s historic deployment to the east coast of the USA, where she first embarked F-35B strike jets, won Leading Photographer Kyle Heller the title 'Royal Navy photographer of the year.' The photographic department of the carrier also won the Peregrine Trophy for a collection of images produced during the same landmark deployment.
