Following the end of the Second World War, Wilhelm Dörr was placed on trial at the Belsen Trials for his involvement in the brutal concentration camps. He was arrested after the liberation of Bergen-Belsen, and at his trial there was much evidence gathered that told of the 24 year old's crimes. Dörr had been involved in a death march from another concentration camp, where he had force marched prisoners hundreds of miles to Belsen. During this march, he shot a number of prisoners and many died because of the horrific conditions. If they were too slow they were killed, and Dörr was responsible for killing a number of prisoners.
He had worked at different concentration camps before arriving at Belsen, and these he had displayed his murderous side. Despite only being a young man, he was involved in encouraging other prisoners to beat prisoners to death who had committed violations of the camps rules. After his trial, he was sentenced to death for his horrific crimes against humanity and murder. He was executed at Hamelin Prison by the British executioner Albert Pierrepoint alongside other notorious SS guards such as Irma Grese, Josef Kramer and Elisabeth Volkenrath.
