Starting to see actual fibers growing on roots. This I'm thinking should be Mycorrhizal or at least meet some of the specific characteristics of Mycorrhizal.
I see where they claim commercially farmed land can have depleted Mycorrhizal levels just from letting fields go fallow between crops. So the Mycorrhizal needs to be passed from root to root almost directly to keep the fungus colony strong or dominant. Again the word dominant. You need that environment with constant Mycorrhizal growth and living root mass as well as that layer of mulch and compost feeding it. Or if you're setting up a new garden you need to get that Mycorrhizal jump started with something like clover or grass to throw down some roots and a good source stock for your innoculant that will provide that abundant and dominant fungus.
I think the bamboo compost has to be the best thing going.
