Allah tests those He loves as a way to purify them, strengthen their faith, and bring them closer to Him. The tests or trials can be in the form of hardship, loss, or challenges, and they are seen as opportunities for growth and reflection. The Quran mentions that Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear (Quran 2:286), and tests are viewed as a way to increase a person’s patience, gratitude, and reliance on Allah.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said, “When Allah loves a servant, He tests him” (Sahih al-Bukhari). These tests are not a punishment but rather a means of spiritual elevation. It’s believed that through patience and perseverance, a person can earn Allah’s rewards and mercy.
