Since the microjets contain a thin layer of iron, their motion can be remotely controlled by using a small magnet. This magnet is only used to steer the direction of the self-propelled micromotors. Here, we can see how accurately these active tubes can be directed towards floating metallic plates and assemble them. Also, the microjets can push a large amount of microparticles.
But their performance is not only limited to bulk solutions since they can swim into the flowing streams of microfluidic channels. They have enough power to go upstream and to move spherical particles.
