This is my first novel from the Beat Generation and I found it pretty interesting. It’s partly autobiographical and set in the post-war 1940s amongst the further burgeoning drug scene with morphine, heroin, cocaine, etc. being peddled around the United States. It’s a fascinating look at the life of a drug addict and definitely worth checking out for anyone interested in the period.
