The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department on Gauteng's East Rand say they have confidence in their recruitment and human resource processes.
This after it was revealed that 167 of their Metro Police Officers had been convicted of crimes ranging from murder, assault, robberies and fraud among others.
Officials at EMPD believe these crimes could have been committed while the officers were already employed as the crimes should have been picked up during the recruitment vetting process.
