Best way to Redeem your Chase Sapphire Points 2021

Today we are going to talk about one of the best ways to redeem your Chase Sapphire Points in 2021. It’s May of 2021 right now and this offer extends through September. Chase has this feature called Pay Yourself Back. This allows you to use your points to cover qualifying purchases that you made previously. The purchase categories that qualify are dining, grocery stores, home improvement stores, and select charities. Through September of 2021 Chase is giving a 25% bonus on points redeemed through pay yourself back. So $10 of redemption value will only cost you 800 points.

Let’s look at the Chase Mobile App and I’ll walk you through the process. Click on the rewards section, choose the sapphire card, then click the hamburger menu up top, then scroll down to pay yourself back, we’ll take the tour, as you can see we’re getting a bonus for redeeming our points for a qualified purchase, you can choose how many points you want to use and then see your overall savings and new points balance.

Here we see the eligible points categories. We’ll scroll down and redeem some points. You can do up to 12 purchases in one go. 13 won’t work for some reason. Hit continue, I usually just hit apply full amount on every purchase, scroll down, then hit confirm and submit.

This is one of the only ways I’ve seen to truly get more than 1 cent per point on your purchases without having to finesse a travel deal. I’ve been using this for the bonus points I got for signing up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. The Saphhire Preferred Currently has an 80,000 point bonus if you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first three months of opening your account.
