Today Stevie visits the CONVENTO DELLA SANTISSIMA ANNUNCIATA , home of Bellavista Winery, in Rovato, on the top of Monte Orfano, in the heart of Franciacorta in the Italian Province of Brescia - Stevie tours the convent with live in guide Davide Bellini, discussing the history of the convent and how it came to be the home of Bellavista.
Convento dell’Annunciata was founded in 1499 by the Order of the Friars Servants of Mary encloses the spirit and history of Franciacorta. The small 5.45-hectare plot, thanks to its geographical position, soil composition and microclimate has been producing quality wine since 1500. Since 1990, Bellavista has been committed to protecting and enhancing an ancient Chardonnay vineyard.
