The roads start in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh and go through the Lahaul & Spiti district passing by places like Sangla Valley, Rekong Peo, Kalpa, Nako, Tabo, Dhankar, Kaza and Chandratal and passing through passes like Kunzum Pass.
You pass through the various ranges of Himalays - from barren ones to snow capped ones.
