정부, 국무회의서 특검법 공포안 의결.. 박 대통령, 재가할 듯
The Korean government has approved an independent counsel bill to launch a special investigation into the influence-peddling and corruption scandal surrounding President Park Geun-hye and her confidante, Choi Soon-sil.
All that remains now is the president's signature.
The presidential office says President Park will sign off on the bill... and is preparing for the special investigation.
The opposition parties will submit two candidates for the independent counsel and President Park will choose one of them.
The counsel will lead a team of more than one-hundred investigators... and the probe can last up to four months.
Today's cabinet meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Yoo Il-ho.
Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn,... who has been filling the president's chair since the scandal broke, is returning from the APEC Summit in Peru, after attending the event on President Park's behalf.
